After this sweet rest, we continue through the typical Bernese backcountry towards the Swiss capital Berne. Marvel at the late Gothic Cathedral, stroll under the characteristic arcades to the clock tower and visit the Parliament building overlooking the beautiful River Aare.

In the afternoon we continue our way through the fascinating rural landscape. The impressively vast roofs shelter prosperous Emmental farmhouses and the geraniums in their windows are probably the most intense color than anywhere else in the world. Stop at the Emmentaler show dairy for the highlight of the day! Tour the show dairy on the audio-visual "King's Way" and learn more about the history of the world's most famous cheese. Marvel at the gigantic wheels of cheese in the impressive cellar before indulging your senses during a cheese tasting only an arm's length away from the master cheesemakers' workplace.

Continue to a nearby dairy farm and see grazing cows on green hills producing high-quality milk, the main ingredient of the world-famous Emmentaler cheese. After a picture stops with an amazing view over the gentle green hills of the Emmental to the triple peaks of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau on a clear day, you drive back to Zürich with a goodie bag full of Swiss delicacies collected at the visited attractions throughout the day.
