Zhinvali Dam in Georgia is a hydroelectric dam that creates a beautiful turquoise reservoir. The reservoir blends seamlessly with the surrounding mountains despite being man-made.
Ananuri is an ancient fortress in Georgia, roughly 70 km from Tbilisi. Built by Dukes of Aragvi, parts of it date back to the 13th century. It sits on the Aragvi River near a reservoir and is being considered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Gudauri is a ski resort in Georgia nestled in the Caucasus Mountains. Sitting at a sunny elevation of 2,200 meters, the resort offers slopes bathed in sunshine from December to April.
The monument you'll see along the Georgian Military Highway is the Russia-Georgia Friendship Monument. Built in 1983, it commemorates a historical treaty between the two countries. This round stone and concrete structure offers a view of Devil's Valley and has a mural depicting Georgian history inside.
Gergeti Trinity Church -Built in the 14th century, the church's history is shrouded in a bit of mystery. Constructed on a former pagan worship site, it later served as a hiding place for religious relics during times of invasion. The Soviets closed the church in the 20th century, but it was returned to the Georgian Orthodox Church in the 1990s.
