The moment someone thinks of Egypt, there are certain images that are bound to flash before their eyes and these would include the sphinx and the pyramids. However, there is much more to this country and the capital city of Cairo is the best example. Cairo, Egypt’s sprawling capital, is set on the Nile River.

Alexandria is a Mediterranean port city in Egypt. During the Hellenistic period, it was home to a lighthouse ranking among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World as well as a storied library.
